Summer Activities

 

Visit Grafton Ponds in the summer and you will agree, there is nothing more beautiful than Vermont in the summertime.

Whether its a leg burner cross country mountain bike trek, or a leisurely hike along the hilly landscape, you'll enjoy Grafton Ponds. Our base lodge offers a retail shop, lessons, bike rentals and repairs. With nearly 2,000 acres of trails, we have much to offer all abilities.

We are happy to bring back our popular Environmental Adventure Day Camps for kids age 5 through 16 years. We offer six week-long day camps full of mountain biking and environmental adventure, where pure fun and active education are key. Each day is filled with a diverse mix of challenging activities where kids experience the richness of Vermont's backyard.

Hiking

Explore on your own on our dedicated hiking trails or enjoy one of our guided hiking excursions. We have miles of beautiful trails on Grafton Ponds to explore.

Bike Terrain Park

Check out our bike terrain park for mountain bikes and BMX bikes. The new park includes three terrain loops with jumps, switchbacks, teeter-totters and a recently finished “Ravine Run:" an exciting series of drops, deep turns, and bridges down the side of Grafton Ponds’ steep ravine.

 

Biathlon at Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center Vermont

Biathlon

Biathlon is a year-round sport, thanks to our 100% safe laser guns. In the summer, we cross train with biathlon shooting (control, breathing, eye coordination) and cross country running or mountain biking. NEW summer biathlon series - check it out.

Guided Excursions

Our guided excursions are a great way to spend a morning or afternoon in Grafton. We are happy to coordinate large and small groups. Trips/tours will be matched to the group’s abilities and preferences.

Canoe Excursion
Experience the beauty of southern Vermont’s wildlife, flora, fauna and magical views. Our canoe trips will take you on an excursion on one of southern Vermont’s many rivers, streams and lakes. Trips generally depart at The Old Tavern at 9 a.m. and return by 3 p.m. Lunch is included. Reservations are necessary.

Fly Fishing Clinic
From line management to proper gear for different situations, this 1.5 hour fly fishing clinic will cover the basic techniques of this exciting sport. Reservations are necessary.
